Description
What this service covers
Before you hire a team, buy a company or sign off a rewrite, it helps to know the real condition of the code. A specialist spends half a day in your repository, checking whether it runs locally, how much of it is tested, how tangled the dependencies are, and what the commit history says about team habits. The resulting report is brief: it gives a maintainability rating, names the three largest risks and gives a rough estimate of the effort to address them.
What you receive
- A concise written report, 3 to 4 pages long
- A maintainability score with the reasoning behind it
- The top 3 technical risks, with likely cost and approximate fix effort
- Observations on test coverage and how current the dependencies are
- Comments on the docs, getting it running locally and how hard onboarding would be
- An assessment of team practices based on commit and review history
The work in 4 stages
-
01
Stage 1: Grant access
You let us read the repository.
-
02
Stage 2: Explore
A specialist studies the code, its history and its configuration.
-
03
Stage 3: Score
Findings are judged against what a new team member would face.
-
04
Stage 4: Deliver
The report is emailed to you, and we answer a single follow-up round of questions.
