Description
What this service covers
Component libraries fall apart when design files and code slowly diverge, so we build both halves at once. Colour, typography and spacing are defined as tokens and exported in a format your front end reads directly, so changing the palette no longer means searching every stylesheet. Around 40 components are built with variants and robust auto-layout inside dedicated design software. Accessibility, including focus handling and WCAG AA colour contrast, is checked during the build instead of added later. Light and dark themes come from a single token set, and a working session brings together the people who design and build your screens.
What you receive
- Design tokens for colour, typography, spacing, corner radius and elevation
- About 40 components built in design software, each with its states, variants and auto-layout
- Token export in the form of CSS custom properties, or settings for a utility framework
- Guidance on when each component should and should not be used
- An accessibility check of focus handling and WCAG AA colour contrast
- Light and dark themes produced from a single token set
- A joint working session for your design and front-end staff
The work in 4 stages
-
01
Stage 1: Inventory
We catalogue every component and style already in circulation.
-
02
Stage 2: Agree
Token names and conventions are settled with design and development together.
-
03
Stage 3: Assemble
Components are produced, documented and reviewed in groups.
-
04
Stage 4: Prove
One real screen is rebuilt with the library to show it holds up.
Who it suits, and what we need from you
Ideal for
- Product teams where every screen has its own version of a button
- Businesses growing from one designer into a full design team
- Front-end developers maintaining three competing style sets
What we need from you
- Access to your existing design files and your front-end code repository
- A designer and a front-end developer available for the working sessions
- Final brand colours and fonts, if they are still undecided
You share these through the brief on your order page after checkout.
What changes for your team
- Design and development use the same names, so handoff is straightforward
- New screens are built from ready parts rather than drawn from scratch
- Accessibility is built into each component, not fixed later
Questions about this service
Do you also code the components in our front-end framework?
We already use an open-source component kit. Is this redundant?
How do we keep the library current?
This is a remote service: nothing is shipped physically, and the work is delivered into systems you control. See delivery and handover and refunds and cancellation for the full terms.
